Inspecting your property for asbestos is only part of the battle. Once asbestos has been discovered and removed, it’s important to dispose of the asbestos-containing material in the proper way to prevent further health concerns. Here is some more information about asbestos waste and disposal from the asbestos removal experts at Certified Asbestos Removal.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act and Alberta Legislation

The Occupational Health and Safety Act, also known as the OHS, outlines specific regulations for disposing of asbestos waste. The OHS requires that asbestos waste be stored, transported and disposed of in sealed containers that are impervious to asbestos and asbestos waste.

The disposal of hazardous waste is under the jurisdiction of the provincial government.
